MoFEP to build capacities of MDAs in preparation for PPP
The Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning (MoFEP) is holding talks with the African Development Bank to build the capacity of individuals and institutions as it plans to implement the Public Private Partnership (PPP) initiative by the close of year 2012. The PPP when fully implemented would address Ghana's huge infrastructure deficit which requires a sustained spending of at least $1.5 billion per annum. Plans for a PPP were started in 2004 where a policy framework and guidelines for its implementation was started. However, the absence of a legal framework stalled the implementation of the policy.
