Dr Naadu Mills pays brief tribute to late husband

Dr Ernestina Naadu Mills’ tribute to her late husband and President, Prof John Evans Atta Mills, is probably one of the shortest tribute to have ever been written in the world by a wife to her husband.

The former First Lady did not mince words to describe her husband.

In just twenty words, the Dr Ernestina Naadu Mills’ tribute read: “Fiifi, you were a blessing to me, Ghana, Africa and the world. Thank you. Rest peacefully in the LORD. Ernestina.”

Since the death of her husband, Dr Ernestina Naadu Mills has maintained her composure.

As a sign of last respect to her husband, she went to the Banquet Hall of the State House in the early hours of today (Friday, August 10) to view for the last time the mortal remain of her husband which had been laid in state since Wednesday.

The state funeral of the late President Mills, which has seen an unprecedented outpouring of public sympathy, was culminated in a burial ceremony steeped in distinctive military traditions.

The mortal remain of the late President was laid to rest at the Geese Park near the seat of Government, Castle, Osu.
