Sekou Nkrumah is an attention seeker

Son of Ghana’s first President, Sekou Nkrumah has been described as an attention seeker who would take every given opportunity to make himself popular.
Sekou is known for criticizing every politician or government whose ideologies are  in conflict with his. He also came out to challenge claims by Dr Onsy Nathan Nkrumah that he is a son of the late President.
Two guests on e.tv Ghana’s flagship programme, Awake, have on different occasions described the utterences by the political activist and former acting coordinator of the National Youth Council as unnecessary.
Dr Onsy Nkrumah who made a guest appearance on Thursday, August 9, 2012 told host Rashida Nasamu that “Sekou seeks attention at every given opportunity and by him seeking to be controversial, he is always in the news; it’s a counter product when it comes to credibility. He can make sound bites; he can give you headlines if you are selling a newspaper and you want some controversial source saying something, he would provide you that.”
He said, “You cannot listen to him seriously. If you know Sekou, you cannot take him seriously. If you can engage your mouth any how to seek attention, then I wouldn’t even bother if such claims come from Sekou.”
“If you’ve followed Sekou over years he is always attacking somebody and he is always attacking from his parents, siblings, and government of the day, president of the day; that is his nature. He cannot help that and I feel sad for that. I wish I can help him,” he noted.
Presidential candidate of the People’s National Convention, Hassan Ayariga also had a fair share of Sekou's attacks when he went to the Kotoka International Airport to welcome the late President John Atta Mills after his (Mills) return from the US upon receiving medical attention.
Sekou Nkrumah described the flagbearer's action as unwarranted; saying that, any presidential candidate who is serious and wants to capture power will never reduce his level to welcoming  an opposing candidate by joining a fanfare organized for him (Mills).
However, Mr Ayariga who failed to respond to Sekou’s comments when it made headline news, on Wednesday morning vehemently responded to Sekou’s critique by saying that, “Sekuo Nkrumah happens to be somebody who criticizes everything. I don’t know if he wants to make himself more popular. But if that is the case then he should find a better way of doing it by learning to accept people and bringing new things on board rather than do so much of the criticism.”
He told Rashida Nasamu that there was the need to introduce a different level of politics into Ghana of which he was currently doing. Thus, if people such as Sekou Nkrumah could not tolerate that kind of politics, then there was no need to change governments.
Mr Ayariga said, “Sekou Nkrumah should be one person who I believe has stayed out of the country for some time and should learn a lot of things and bring on board rather than to be criticizing a lot of good things that people are bringing on board.”
Mr Ayariga said he feels vindicated for his action although Professor Mills has passed away.
